In fact, more groups are now in on the action:
- Premier Veterinary Group of Chicago (3927 W Belmont Ave.) signed on to be a drop-off location for Team IPC.
- Ruff Haus Pets (4652 N Rockwell St) stepped up to be a drop-off location for Team AMC.
- Sam & Willy’s (3405 N. Paulina) is offering a 15-percent discount on all purchases toward the food drive, you decide which team gets the food!
You can also still order from Parker’s Natural Dog & Cat Market at a discount, and Parker’s will count it toward the clinic of your choice. Order by phone and they’ll deliver!
In an article at Huffington Post about the food drive, AMC veterinarian Dr. Donna Solomon notes that many people in Chicago are forced to make difficult decisions about how to survive on a limited income. Providing pet food to those in need is one way to help families and their pets.
According to Pew Research Center, writes Solomon, “45 percent of families earning below $30,000 per year own a pet. Given their limited funds, some of these pets go to bed hungry or are abandoned at shelters.”
Remember, the food drive ends March 31. All of us at FP2 hope you support both organizations in their quest to raise the most donations!
