Nick Anderson, hospital administrator at Animal Medical Center of Chicago, and Sarah Jackson, practice manager at Integrative Pet Care, shake hands at the completion of the 2015 Pet Food Drive Challenge.
[Update: Read coverage of the food drive in DNAInfo]
Animal Medical Center of Chicago and Integrative Pet Care competed in a two-week food drive, with the goal of seeing whose veterinary practice could collect the most food for Friendship Pet Food Pantry.
Here’s the final tally:
Integrative Pet Care: 2,593 pounds
Animal Medical Center of Chicago: 2,557 pounds
Total: 5,150 pounds
The winner is Integrative Pet Care — by a whisker! There was only a 36-pound difference between the two clinics, proving both were hugely successful in their efforts.
On April 2, the clinics loaded up and delivered the donations to the Friendship Center. Thanks to the generosity of all involved, FP2 can provide food to more Chicago families who may be struggling to make ends meet — making it possible for them to keep their pets at home and out of shelters.
It’s a win for everyone!
A big thank you to clients of both clinics who dropped off bags and cans when bringing their own pets to the vet, and to the pet stores and businesses that supported the food drive by offering discounts, donating food, and setting up collection bins.
